Meet Sam and his team behind Rhodes W1

Sam Rhodes was born in Taunton, Somerset in the UK, where his father, Gary Rhodes, received his first Michelin star. Having started his career as a waiter at Rhodes 24, Sam moved to Grosvenor House, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Dubai, as an Assistant Manager in Buddha-Bar. In 2022, Sam officially took on the role of General Manager for Rhodes W1 as he carries the mantle of his father's legacy.

Sam's favourite dishes from the new menu are the Bang Bang Chicken Salad and the RW1 Burger. 

Though he may not have followed his father into the kitchen, he certainly did follow him in becoming an avid Manchester United F.C supporter.

A football and UFC fanatic, Darius was born and raised in Newcastle in the UK.

He started off in Dubai in 2014 and joined Geales, an award-winning British restaurant at Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa as Bartender. He quickly made his way up to become the Restaurant Manager of the wildly popular Siddharta Lounge by Buddha-Bar at the Grosvenor House, a Luxury Collection Hotel.

Darius joined Rhodes W1 family in 2020 and his go-to dish on our new menu is surely the RW1 Burger.

In his free time, he likes to go out for a good dinner and of course, watch Newcastle United F.C. play.

Chef Alex brings more than 17 years of culinary experience to Rhodes W1 located in the heart of Dubai's notable Marina neighbourhood. Following in his culinary hero's footsteps was a huge motivating factor in joining Rhodes W1.

Originally hailing from London, UK, Chef Alex worked for a number of British chefs before coming to the United Arab Emirates. 

Prior to his position at Rhodes W1, Chef Alex served as Executive Sous-chef at Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa for 8 years.
